The Issue-based Coalitions (IBCs) and thematic Working Groups are demand-driven and respond to specific needs and priorities of countries or demands from respective United Nations Resident Coordinators and United Nations country teams and address critical regional development issues within agreed global and regional norms and policy frameworks. The Issue-based Coalitions are time-bound, which reflects the varying policy priorities in the region.
The current Issue-based Coalitions of the RCP LAC are focused on the following areas: climate change and resilience; crime and violence; equitable growth; financing for development; governance and institutions; and human mobility; and the two thematic working groups are on gender equality and empowerment of women and girls and another on youth.
